«Pietro Consagra is one of the most significant figures on the international art scene of the twentieth century: with his revolutionary “frontal sculpture”, he was an important innovator of post-war and contemporary sculture, as far as both theory and practice concerns. The exhibition at Galleria Mucciaccia, conceived as a tour characterised by an anthological arrangment, presents over sixty works to the public. It is the first significant retrospective of the artist in Rome, the city where he lived and worked most of his life, after the important anthological show dedicated to him by Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna in 1989, leading visitors on a journey from his first abstract sculptures in 1947 to the latest works of the 2000s».
